It is with profound grief that we inform you that Sh Rajendra Singh Rana, the Secretary General of Fencing Association of India (FAI), passed away on the night of 26th October.
He had been suffering from Cancer and had been undergoing treatment for the last few months.
Born on 1st January 1960, he was a prominent boxer for his state and participated in many National Championships during his student life.
He had been a Minister of State in the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow, India and was associated with the state Olympic Association & state Fencing Association for many years
His death is a great setback for the FAI and also many other sports organisations, because he was always ready to serve athletes.
May his soul rest in peace.
The Executive committee of the FAI will meet on 19th November to discuss and decide the name of his successor.
