The Egyptian Fencing Federation in cooperation with the African Fencing Confederation and the FIE organised the 15th Senior African Championships, all weapons (Male & Female) which were held in Cairo, Egypt 2015 11th -16th June 2015.
The competitions were of high importance for the athletes for their qualification of the next Olympic Games in Rio 2016. The events took place in Indoor Halls’ Complex , Cairo Stadium in Nasr city.
A number of 130 fencers from 23 countries participated in the individual and team competitions with Egypt being the first country holding the most medals, followed by Tunisia and Algeria.
The FIE representatives showed a positive feedback on the organization of the competition and they mentioned that Egypt is ready to host the FIE's World Cups or Fencing Grand Prix.
